Overview
Training Philosophy
New Horizons Partnership philosophy is to enable clients to become more independent based on a person-centred approach and according to the individual's ability and needs. An important element in this effort is the development of new skills and competencies.
The training programmes run by New Horizons are intended to equip clients with work competencies and specific vocational skills. These programmes are integrated with the supported employment and social enterprise initiatives also run by New Horizons Partnership so training is given not just for training's sake.
Through the supported employment programme and the various social enterprises established by New Horizons Partnership, clients will get the opportunity to apply in a real or supported working environment the skills and competencies that they have developed on our programmes.
Accreditation
All of the training programmes available allow candidates to obtain certification from recognised awarding bodies. Different levels are available depending on the ability and skills profile of the candidates. New Horizons Partnership is authorised by the National Open College Network (Northern Ireland) to deliver its programmes. And through our training partners, students can access the following awards: City & Guilds (through the North West Regional College) and FETAC (through Donegal VEC's Adult Education Service).
